Flooring is where a subfloor's problems finally show up: squeaks, soft spots, and transitions that were never leveled between rooms added at different times. Before any plank or tile goes down, the subfloor gets checked and corrected, which is the difference between a floor that lasts and one that telegraphs every flaw within a year.

Luxury vinyl plank has become the most requested material across the service area for its resistance to the humidity swings between a hot East Texas summer and a damp winter, though hardwood and tile both still make sense room by room depending on the use.
